WNBA Player Sophie Cunningham Says She Was Asked To Be Part Of WWE
Sophie Cunningham sees a future in WWE after her WNBA career is over.
The Indiana Fever guard expressed her love for WWE on an episode of the Show Me Something podcast with her co-host West Wilson.
“I grew up on that shit. WWE, baby!” Cunningham exclaimed. “Me and [my sister] Lindsey used to wrestle all the time, and our parents would have to call it. Kane, Hulk (Hogan). Oh my God. I used to watch the Hulk all the time, the reality TV show. John Cena was just the absolute best.”
Cunningham continued, revealing that she was asked to be part of WWE at some point.
“They asked me to do it,” said Cunningham. “You know, maybe after I retire or off-season, maybe us two will be the new WWE duo.”
Cunningham did not give specifics on what she was asked to do regarding WWE.
Wilson wasn’t keen on the idea of getting in the ring, saying it was tough for him to get into wrestling because he knew it was fake.
Over the summer, WOW Founder David McLane expressed his interest in bringing in Cunningham. You can find her reaction here.
