Wrestlers React And Warn Fans After Twitter Verification Changes, NJPW Issues Statement

Twitter changed its verification system on April 20, removing blue checkmarks from verified users and asking them to pay $8 for Twitter Blue.

Of course, anyone can pay $8 for Twitter Blue and get the same blue checkmark that wrestlers have or used to have through the verification process.

With the changes in the verification system, many wrestlers took to social media to warn their fans or give general thoughts on the changes.

NJPW issued the following statement:

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Due to changes in the verification system for Twitter users, wrestlers and NJPW affiliated accounts may or may not have blue verified checks, and accounts with a verified badge may or may not represent who they claim.
