It appears that the long-awaited match could be happening at TakeOver: New Orleans.
A few weeks ago on NXT TV, Johnny Gargano would be attacked by his former best-friend and partner Tommaso Ciampa. The attack did not only cost Gargano a win over Andrade "Cien" Almas, but Gargano was not able to capture the NXT Championship and he was forced to leave the NXT brand.
During the recent NXT TV tapings from Full Sail, Johnny Gargano did have a segment/brawl with Tommaso Ciampa, but nothing was made official concerning the two rivals having their match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans on April 7th.
Yesterday evening, WWE posted an updated match card for TakeOver: New Orleans onto their official Facebook account, and while there are four matches confirmed for the event, Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa was not one of them.
