WWE looks to literally make SummerSlam the “Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer.”
For the first time in the United States of America, SummerSlam will be available across the nation in movie theaters. This is due to a new partnership between WWE and Iconic Events Releasing.
“I didn’t think it was possible, but our biggest event of 2021 just got even bigger,” said Drew McIntyre to Sports Illustrated in regards to the new arrangement. “I’m very excited for WWE fans to have the opportunity to watch SummerSlam live on the big screen.”

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- WWE (NYSE: WWE) and Iconic Events Releasing today announced a new partnership that brings SummerSlam, WWE’s biggest event of 2021, to movie theaters nationwide for the first time. The event will air live on Saturday, August 21 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT and will be one of the first sporting events held at full capacity at Allegiant Stadium, and the first time it will be held at an NFL venue.
