WWE Announces New Female Recruits

Four female wrestlers, including former CHIKARA Grand Champion Kimber Lee, reported to the WWE Performance Center this week.

WWE announced the news, noting the additions of Kimber Lee (real name Kimberly Frankele), Heidi Lovelace (real name Dori Prange), Andrea (real name MaryKate Duignan Glidewell) and former MMA fighter Julia Ho.

News broke last month that Kimber Lee and Heidi Lovelace had signed with WWE and would be reporting to NXT.

Frankele made an Instagram post after the news officially was announced:

Frankele, in addition to her run as CHIKARA Champion that made her the first female wrestler ever to win the headline title in a wrestling promotion, has held titles for SHINE and SHIMMER. She also has appeared recently on NXT, losing a match against Ember Moon.

Lovelace, a frequent ally and rival of Kimber Lee throughout the independent circuit, is a former holder of the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup.

Glidewell, a product of the Dudleys' 3D Wrestling Academy, also has experience for major female independent companies like SHINE. One of her trainers, D-Von Dudley, remains a part of WWE as an agent.

Ho, an undefeated MMA fighter, also has experience as a singer and model.

These additions to the female roster at NXT come as the promotion continues to make plans for holding a tournament for women's wrestlers, which will take place at some point this year.
