WWE Announces NXT U.K. TakeOver For January 12th, NXT U.K. Women's Championship Match Set For The Show

The event has been confirmed!

The project that is NXT U.K. has been in the works since the first-ever WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament in January of 2017. That tournament has brought stars like Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, Wolfgang and WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne to the forefront. The next step for WWE's expansion into the United Kingdom was running a weekly TV show. That came to fruition and was announced at the second WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament at Royal Albert Hall this past summer.

The NXT U.K. TV show airs every Wednesday on the WWE Network and over the past few weeks has been coming in double doses at the 3 PM EST and 4 PM EST blocks. The ever-growing NXT U.K. brand is not stopping there as it was announced by WWE C.O.O. Triple H and NXT U.K. GM Johnny Saint at the NXT U.K. TV tapings in Liverpool today that the brand will be coming to Blackpool on January 12th for NXT U.K. TakeOver.

Tickets are going on sale on Monday after the NXT U.K. Liverpool TV tapings wrap up and they can be purchased at this link. The breaking news did not stop there as 2018 Mae Young Classic winner Toni Storm came down to the ring and announced that she will be challenging Rhea Ripley for the NXT U.K. Women's Championship at NXT U.K. TakeOver in January.

The TakeOver special will air live on the WWE Network and on January 13th, NXT U.K. TV tapings in Blackpool will commence as well.
