WWE Co-President Explains WWE Spreading Content Over Multiple Platforms

WWE wants each platform to be different.

This year, WWE has had exclusive content for their "direct to consumer" WWE Network, on Facebook, YouTube, and national television. In an interview with CNBC, WWE Co-President George Barrios said this was by design. He said tiering WWE content has been the plan for success.

Chad Gable: All You're Seeing Is The Real Chad Gable, This Is What You've Been Waiting For

"Four years ago, we made a big bet on a move to direct to consumer and a big bet on tiering our content to social and digital. So, we're on all three platforms. We'll say the key for us is to tier the content so you don't see the same WWE video on all platforms, we tier it. So what you see on our direct to consumer network is different from what you see on YouTube which is different from what you see on USA here in the United States or Sky in the UK," said Barrios

The tiering system has also been spoken about by Barrios during a conference call earlier this year. He said the WWE Network will be split into different tiers. Also in the interview, Barrios talked about the success of WrestleMania in past years and the goal of WWE to hit record profits again in 2018.
