WWE Co-President George Barrios On AEW: Welcome To The Game

WWE Co-President offers a brief comment on AEW.

This Saturday, All Elite Wrestling will hold their first event as a new company; Double or Nothing. Although this will be their first event, AEW has made big waves in the wrestling business, including striking a deal with Turner Media/TNT. As such, AEW is already being looked at as a direct competitor to WWE.

Speaking at the JP Morgan Investors Conference, WWE Co-President George Barrios was asked about AEW being competition to WWE.

"If you're in the business of fighting for people's time....sleep is competition. Whether it's Fortnite, the NBA, kung fu novels, we are fighting for people's time. Everyone and everything is a competitor. AEW has announced (the deal with Turner). Welcome to the game. We'll see how it goes."

Triple H offered a similar comment earlier this year when AEW was first announced, saying WWE is competing against everyone, including sleep.

WWE reportedly held a talent meeting prior to WWE Money in the Bank where AEW was addressed as direct competition. You can view more on the meeting by clicking here.
