New information regarding the recent COVID outbreak at the WWE Performance Center.
As reported by Fightful Select, there were several positive tests in NXT the week of September 9 with many recruits testing positive. Several classes at the PC ended up being canceled, though some "essential coaches" were said to have remained. Trainees were spending four days a week training, with testing at least weekly. Talent are to be tested before any show they appear on.
WWE issued the following statement to Fightful on the matter:
?As part of ongoing testing protocols, WWE completed its second round of weekly COVID-19 testing on Tuesday. Individuals that tested positive will quarantine for 14 days, receive medical care, and then will only be cleared when they are symptom-free and test negative. Additionally, extensive contact tracing has taken place and other individuals have been placed in 14-day quarantine, and will then only be cleared after they test negative.?
PWInsider reports talent and staff working at the PC or NXT tapings will not be allowed to work Raw or Smackdown tapings at the Thunderdome until further notice.
The next NXT tapings will be on October 4 for TakeOver. NXT taped two episodes, including next Wednesday's show, on September 23. Fightful Select noted that a large number of the roster was kept off the taping on Wednesday, and several extras that were intended for the crowd were either sent home or had to end up working the battle royal, resulting in a limited crowd.
