WWE Draft First Round Picks Announced, NXT Star Chosen At Number 5

It's official, the first round picks in the 2016 WWE draft have been made.

Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley wasted no time in announcing their first pick as Seth Rollins, under the assumption he'd win the WWE Championship from Dean Ambrose later in the show. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan, who will control Smackdown, then named Ambrose as their selection.

"It feels phenomenal, I'm thrilled to be working again with Stephanie McMahon -- and Mick Foley! Was there ever any doubt?," Rollins asked Tom Phillips on the WWE Network.

The second round came in a hurry, as McMahon and Foley announced WWE Women's Champion Charlotte as their next pick. Looking flustered, McMahon and Bryan had to recollect themselves, and picked former TNA, NWA and IWGP Champion AJ Styles for their squad.

"Being drafted in the first round shows that the women can hang with the win. I'm not surprised that I got picked top three," Charlotte said. Charlotte

The first NXT selection was made in the form of Finn Balor to Raw, as Mick Foley said they were 'looking to the future.'
