WWE Edits Charlotte Flair/Becky Lynch Championship Exchange During Encore Of 10/22 SmackDown

WWE has edited the heavily discussed show-closing exchange between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch from the October 22 SmackDown which was replayed on FOX on Saturday, October 23.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, because of the results of the WWE Draft, were on the opposite brand of the respective WWE Women's Championships they held.

It was later revealed that there was legitimate backstage tension between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair leading up to and following this exchange.

As first reported by Fightful Select, The original script actually called for Becky Lynch to grab the title away from Charlotte Flair and brag about being "Becky Two Belts" before Sonya Deville would order her to hand her title to Charlotte. We're told Charlotte Flair didn't agree this was the best course of action but was told to stay the course. However, we've heard that most everyone had already been in agreement the segment was going to be awkward. After Charlotte dropped the title on the ground, Lynch ended up throwing hers at Charlotte, which we're told was planned for the segment, contrary to original reports.

This moment was edited out of the replay of WWE SmackDown on Saturday, October 23 with a camera cut showing the audience before showing Charlotte Flair handing the title over to Becky Lynch. Becky throwing her belt at Charlotte was kept in the segment.

Fightful will continue to monitor the story and report any and all updates.
