Braun Strowman never had a chance to get his hands on Shane McMahon.
It was shown during the Kickoff that Shane injured himself training for the match. He came out of the trainers room with a crutch and ice around his left knee. He interacted with Elias and Jaxson Ryker backstage, showing up in the ring with them, and then telling Elias that he would be taking his spot in the match.

Braun dominated the match, with Elias getting a moment to shine with a top rope elbow. The match didn't last much longer, with Braun finishing off Elias with his running powerslam.
