WWE have filed to trademark ‘RKO’, the name given to Randy Orton’s iconic finishing move that has gone viral on more than one occasion.

The RKO is one of the most iconic wrestling finishing moves over the course of the industry’s history, partially due to the fact Orton’s ‘outta nowhere’ aspect of his finish has gone viral on several occasions. Now, WWE have locked down the term legally.

In a new trademark filing on July 6th, WWE filed to trademark ‘RKO.’ You can check out the full filing description below.

“Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network.”
