WWE trademarks two in-ring wrestling names, one being a throwback to the 1980s.
On June 27, 2023, WWE filed trademarks on the names of "Zeus" and "Nyx." Both filings are intended to cover performances by a professional wrestler.

Mark For: ZEUS trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
Mark For: NYX trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
Zeus was a character portrayed by Tiny Lister in 1989 as part of the first-ever WWE movie release, No Holds Barred, starring Hulk Hogan. Zeus would also make a handful of wrestling appearances at the 1989 SummerSlam and Survivor Series and a special Steel Cage Match taped for the pay-per-view showing of the No Holds Barred film. Lister, unfortunately, passed away on December 10, 2020.

It is not known whether or not this is a trademark pertaining to that character or a new character coming into WWE. It is also unknown how they will use the trademark of Nyx.
