Donald Trump hit with a major fine.
Judge Arthur Engoron has ordered former President and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump to pay over $350 million in damages, and has barred Trump "from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years."
"In order to borrow more and at lower rates, defendants submitted blatantly false financial data to the accountants, resulting in fraudulent financial statements," Justice Engoron said in a 92-page ruling. "When confronted at trial with the statements, defendants’ fact and expert witnesses simply denied reality, and defendants failed to accept responsibility or to impose internal controls to prevent future recurrences."
In the civil fraud case, it was ruled Trump committed rampant fraud in over-valuing his real estate properties.
On January 26, a civil federal jury ordered Trump to pay $83 million to writer E. Jean Carroll for defamation.
Trump could face four criminal trials this year.
