Morales is a former WWWF World Heavyweight Champion, WWF Tag Team Champion and WWF Intercontinental Champion. He is considered to be the first-ever WWF Triple Crown winner having held all three belts at various points in his career. Morales' single WWWF World Title reign lasted 1,027 days. It's the fifth longest combined WWE Title reign of all-time and fourth longest single title reign of all-time.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated named him as their Wrestler of the Year in 1972. Morales retired from in-ring competition in 1987.

Newer fans may know Morales for his Spanish commentary on WWE broadcasts. Morales was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995.

Fightful would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of Morales.
