Kevin Owens took on Sami Zayn at WWE Hell In A Cell.
The two longtime friends have been feuding since before WrestleMania 37, with Owens vowing to stun Zayn back to reality. On the latest episode of SmackDown, Sami attempted to interfere in KO's tag team match, and though he was unsuccessful, his presence diverted Kevin's attention long enough for Commander Azeez to take advantage and hit him with two Nigerian Nails.
Owens visited Adam Pearce afterwards, struggling to breathe, asking for a match with Zayn. The WWE Official made it official for tonight's event.
Throughout the match, Owens' breathing was laboured and he could be heard coughing consistently. Despite that, he fought valiantly, controlling large portions of the match, even busting Zayn open at the mouth. After Owens fell throat first onto the bottom rope, Zayn was able to hit a Helluva Kick for the pin and win.

KO beats Sami down in the corner before whipping Sami into the corner and hitting a running senton before Sami rolls out of the ring and KO sends him into the barricade before tossing him back inside and Sami kicks the ropes when he's coming back in before beating KO down in the corner. KO counters a suplex and drops Sami across the top rope before hitting a running clothesline and cannonball in the corner before Sami sends Kevin into the middile rope and hits a tope before KO comes back with a clothesline at ringside. Sami hits a blue thunderbomb once they're back in the ring for two before countering a stunner into a dragon suplex for two before KO rolls out of the ring as we see Sami's mouth bleeding before Sami goes out after KO and Kevin hits him with a stunner at ringside. The two then exchange on their knees until KO headbutts Sami and kicks him out of the ring before Sami goes after KO's injured arm and hits a Helluva Kick for the pin and the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn defeats Kevin Owens via pinfall.
