WWE Injury Update: Former Champion, NXT Talent, More Are Sidelined

Three members of the WWE roster currently are on the shelf after sustaining recent injuries. Jey Uso and Naomi both are sidelined from Smackdown with ankle injuries. Meanwhile, in NXT, Sawyer Fulton is expected to miss several months.

Fightful.com was able to confirm the news with WWE employees this week.

The Usos have not appeared on WWE television since the November 22 episode of Smackdown, when they competed in a Gauntlet Match to crown No. 1 contenders for the Smackdown Tag Titles. An Instagram post the day after that Smackdown aired showed Jey Uso needing a wheelchair to navigate an airport:

Meanwhile, Naomi's last televised appearance came on the November 22 episode of WWE Main Event, which saw her lose to Alexa Bliss. Naomi and Jey's brother, Jimmy, are married.

As for Fulton, he'll will miss several months because of a shoulder injury. The most recent episode of NXT appeared to write out Fulton of the faction SAnitY. Prior to a tag team match, SAnitY leader Eric Young threw the jacket of Fulton, who was absent, out of the ring. Big Damo then interfered to help Young and Alexander Wolfe win their match, seemingly replacing Fulton in the group.

Damo teamed with Wolfe at NXT live events last week, working under his given name, Damian O'Connor.

Fulton's most recent in-ring appearance came at the November 17 NXT event in Boston.
