With the coronavirus hitting countries around the world, WWE is looking to ensure the health and safety of everyone that will be present during WrestleMania week.
In a statement to ESPN, WWE revealed that it currently has no plans to cancel or postpone any events that are taking place during WrestleMania week. WWE noted that it is monitoring the situation and working with officials in Tampa, where multiple cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in the area.
"The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay. We remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events."
WrestleMania week not only features the biggest WWE event of the year but other events such as WWE Hall of Fame, SmackDown, NXT TakeOver, Raw, and local events like a 5K Fun Run, a block party, superstars visiting classrooms and hospitals, and much more. Plus, various companies running Independent wrestling shows throughout the week.
Stephanie McMahon previously commented on the matter and the measures WWE are implementing to make sure every person there is safe. WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.
Coronavirus has hit the pro wrestling world, forcing various companies to cancel shows such as NJPW, which canceled various events that were set to kick off the 2020 New Japan Cup as well as the promotion's anniversary show.
