WWE has not moved Friday's SmackDown from Detroit to the Performance Center, but contingency plans are in place.
It was reported on Wednesday night that WWE would be moving SmackDown from Detroit to the Performance Center in Orlando due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, WWE issued the following statement, saying that is not the case.
"WWE has not cancelled Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, however, based on the current situation, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues."
So, as of now, WWE SmackDown will take place from the Little Caesars Arena on Friday. Fightful will keep fans updated on the situation as it unfolds.
Tampa officials will be meeting on Thursday, Mar. 12 to make a decision regarding WWE WrestleMania 36.
Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown will be headlined by an appearance by John Cena, which was announced on Wednesday evening. Jeff Hardy is also set to return on WWE SmackDown and Paige will return as well to confront Bayley.
Fightful will have live coverage of WWE SmackDown beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
