WWE Physician Chris Amann Receives First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

WWE's senior ringside physician has received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The world has been in the throes of a horrible pandemic for nearly a year now, and although it continues to wreak havoc, a light has emerged at the end of the tunnel. Towards the end of 2020, news began emerging that biotech companies and pharmaceutical corporations such as Moderna and Pfizer had successful vaccine trials and that doses would start being administered as soon as possible. The first to be immunized would be those with the highest risk factors, mainly healthcare workers.

Taking to social media, Dr. Chris Amann shared the following news:

"Just received my first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this evening. So appreciative of and thankful for all of the health care workers, researchers, and organizations that made this possible to bring this pandemic under control. Didn?t feel a thing!"

The wrestling world has been hit hard by the pandemic with many promotions unable to run shows and independent performers missing out on paycheques that they otherwise would have received. WWE has been fortunate to continue running shows without a live audience, utilizing the Performance Center and ThunderDome, but has had various personnel test positive since this all began.

Yesterday, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley announced that he has tested positive for COVID and has been quarantining in a hotel room for over two weeks.
