WWE Possibly Considering New Title Belt Designs

The WWE could be getting some fresh new designs for two of its title belts.

According to Reddit user dvizzle, who goes by "Da Belt Guy" on BeltTalk.com, the WWE is going to reveal new designs for both the Intercontinental and United States title belts.  It's a matter of if, not when, according to the user who first reported that the new Universal Championship belt would look like the WWE Championship, except that it would be red to represent RAW. He was right then, so there's seems to be little cause to doubt him now.

He said that they've been looking into a new Intercontinental championship belt design since back in November, and a different source is now reporting that both the IC and the US belts are due for a change.

"No eta, no clue on design other than it's NOT copies of the Big Logo," he wrote.

There were multiple new WWE title belts revealed in 2016, with the much maligned Universal Title getting much of the attention. But there was also the Women's Championship, which replaced the Divas Championship and eventually was renamed to the RAW Women's Championship, with a counterpart on SmackDown with blue accents instead of red. Just last month, the Raw Tag Team Titles were re-designed with a red strap and silver plates, to match the blue and silver plate design of the new SmackDown Tag Championship.
