WWE Recognized with Two 'MTV Movie and TV Awards' Nominations

The MTV Movie & TV Awards nominee list was unveiled this afternoon with four WWE Superstars earning recognition.

Roman Reigns has been nominated for Best Real-Life Hero alongside Alex Honnold, Hannah Gadsby, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Serena Williams. Back in October of 2018, Reigns announced live on Monday Night RAW that he had been living with leukemia for 11 years and that it had returned. At that point in time, he was forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship. After a four-month absence, Roman returned to TV with the news that he was in remission. Roman can be seen every week on WWE programming and this August on the big screen in Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw.

The second nomination comes in the category of Best Fight. Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair made history at Wrestlemania 35 by being the first Women to Main Event the annual spectacular and their work from that evening is being heralded here. They're going to be facing an uphill battle, however, going up against the likes of Avengers: Endgame and Game of Thrones, both of which are currently smashing box office and television records.

The ceremony will be held on June 17th with Shazam! star Zachary Levi serving as the host. The full list of nominees can be seen here, via Deadline.
