WWE Removes Ric Flair From Signature Open, Pulls Merchandise And More

WWE made some changes to its signature intro package.

Currently, WWE’s signature at the start of each show pays tribute to many iconic moments and legends from WWE's history with different soundbites playing for each corresponding moment or legend.

Up until Monday, September 20, Ric Flair and his signature “Wooo!” could be heard in the video package. However, as of the Monday Night Raw on September 20, that is no longer the case.

Furthermore, WWE pulled Ric Flair merchandise from its website. The company released a Ric Flair Legacy Championship on September 10, making it available for pre-order. However, the page is no longer available. Searching for "Ric Flair" yields no results in the WWE Shop.

WWE also removed episode one of WWE Story Time from Peacock. The episode featured Flair telling the story of flight attendants getting him to strip down and him wearing nothing under his robe.

Ric Flair was referenced on tonight's episode of Raw but it was not by name. Alexa Bliss told Charlotte Flair, Ric Flair's daughter, that her catchphrase is not even originally hers, referring to the fact that Charlotte Flair uses the Ric Flair “Wooo!” on television and has ever since she debuted.

Currently, Ric Flair is facing backlash after having sexual misconduct allegations against him and having the depiction of said allegations featured in the most recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring. The incident allegedly occurred on the infamous “Plane Ride From Hell” in 2002.

Ric Flair has released a statement denying these allegations. Learn more here.
