WWE Reportedly Filmed Certain Matches For WWE Backlash, News On What Was And Wasn't Taped

WWE Backlash is this Sunday, June 14, but WWE has reportedly already taped certain matches for the show.

Fightful Select reported on June 7 WWE brought in Performance Center recruits on Sunday morning, ahead of NXT TakeOver: In Your House, to film at the WWE Performance Center for WWE Backlash. After filming for Backlash, recruits went over to Full Sail University to be in the crowd for NXT TakeOver. Call time was 8:30 a.m.

Louis Dangoor of WrestleTalk has more details, reporting that the WWE Title match between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley was not taped on Sunday. Louis does note that it's always possible WWE films the match at some point this week as the company is set to tape upcoming episodes of Raw, SmackDown, and NXT this week.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports Edge vs. Randy Orton was taped on Sunday as WWE wanted to deliver on the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever tagline.
