WWE Reveals Two First Round Matches For Season Two Of The Mixed Match Challenge Tournament

The tourney is back.

WWE recently announced that the Mixed Match Challenge tournament will be returning to their programming schedule starting on September 18th. The first season of the M.M.C. tourney was single elimination style that featured teams consisting of one man and one woman from RAW and the same for SmackDown Live. The winners of last year's tournament were The Miz and Asuka and they earned a total of $10,000 for the charity that they represented in the tourney, 'Rescue Dogs Rock'.

There were twelve episodes of the tournament which all aired after SmackDown Live on Facebook Watch. The second season has undergone some changes as the episodes will be running for an additional ten minutes on Facebook Watch which brings the total run time of the show to 30 minutes. There will be fourteen episodes this season and two matches will take place on each episode and instead of single elimination, season two action will take place under round-robin rules.

* Alicia Fox & Jinder Mahal

* Natalya & Kevin Owens

* Carmella & R-Truth


The two first round matches that were announced by WWE via their official Instagram page was Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman taking on Natalya and Kevin Owens, and the current WWE Champion AJ Styles and SmackDown Live Women's Champion Charlotte Flair facing Jimmy Uso and Naomi.

The finals of season two of Mixed Match Challenge tournament will take place at the December 16th 'TLC' PPV in San Jose, California.
