WWE Royal Rumble 2027 Was Discussed For February 20th
The Royal Rumble was discussed for late February.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select learned that the 2027 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event was discussed to take place on February 20th, so it could line up with ESPN’s coverage of the NFL Super Bowl, and that would, in turn, lead to more promotion for WWE.
“There were discussions within WWE about the possibility of hosting the Royal Rumble two weeks later, on February 20, @WrestleVotes Radio on @FightfulSelect has been told.
The idea was to get exposure during Super Bowl weekend, which is being broadcast on ESPN for the first time.
The thinking internally was that throughout the week on the lead-up to the game, as well as during the game-day coverage itself.
