- In a shocking moment, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace entered the Royal Rumble as the fifth entrant. She is now the first woman to make her Royal Rumble debut while being signed to a completely different company and having never had any major experience on WWE television. On Twitter, Grace teased the WWE Universe that they haven't seen the last of TNA Wrestling.

- Roman Reigns successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Title over LA Knight, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles. Reigns was able to pin AJ Styles and successfully add another victim to his list. He also had some help from Solo Sikoa, whose interference directly stopped Randy Orton from becoming the new WWE Universal Champion.
