Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with a recap of WWE Fastlane before we open in the ThunderDome with Daniel Bryan who talks about how he made Roman Reigns tap in their match. Daniel addresses Edge costing him the Universal Championship and that he's asking for a rematch against Roman tonight and that he's not leaving the ring until he gets what he wants. Daniel then sits down in a folding chair in the center of the ring as we go to commercial.
We come back from the commercial as Adam Pearce comes out onto the stage and says that Daniel isn't getting a rematch against Roman tonight and that Roman's next title defense will be against Edge. Daniel then says that Edge and Roman should face off in night one of Wrestlemania and the winner of that face him in night two before Edge interrupts. Edge says that Daniel has lost to Roman twice and he won the Royal Rumble, and that Daniel doesn't deserve the match at Wrestlemania. Daniel then takes Edge down before Edge spears him and hits him with a chair as we go to commercial.
- In the locker room Roman talks to Jey and tells him to pay a visit to Adam Pearce.
Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura
They lock up before Shin hits a running knee to the midsection before Seth snaps his neck across the top rope and Shin hits a running knee lift at ringside. Shin then hits a diving knee off of the apron as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Shin in control before Seth hits a sling blade for two before hitting him with clubbing blows and Shin comes back with a leg lariat. Shin hangs Seth across the top rope and hits an ax kick before hitting a sliding knee into a sliding German for two before missing a running knee in the corner. Seth hits a falcon arrow for two before Shin hits a land slide for a near fall before Seth dodges a Kinshasa and Shin locks in an armbar. Shin then transitions into a triangle armbar before Seth powerbombs his way free and pins Shin with a curb stomp.
Winner: Seth Rollins defeats Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall.
- After the match Seth attacks Shin before he's saved by Cesaro who runs Seth off.
- We go to the locker room where Jey has brought Adam Pearce before Roman tells him that he wants him to understand that he gets him for one night and one title defense. Adam then tells everyone that he will announce his decision by the end of the night before leaving.
- Backstage Seth is interviewed where he challenges Cesaro to a match at Wrestlemania before Cesaro attacks him and swings him before accepting.
Big E & Street Profits vs Alpha Academy & Apollo Crews
Otis and Dawkins start the match off before SP double team Otis and Otis and Ford run the ropes before Otis hits a powerslam and Chad comes in and hits a dragon screw. Apollo comes in and drops Ford with a back elbow before Ford comes back with an enzuigiri and tags in E who suplexes Chad and knocks Otis off of the apron. E then hits a jumping splash before Chad counters the Big Ending and E hits a uranage before Ford takes out AA at ringside before Apollo pins E with an Olympic slam.
Winner: Apollo Crews and Alpha Academy defeat Big E and Street Profits via pinfall.
- We go to the ring to tonight's edition of the KO Show with special guest Sami Zayn before the two have a verbal exchange and Sami challenges Kevin to a match at Wrestlemania before Kevin lays Sami out and accepts.
- This week's Progressive Match Flo recaps the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match at Fastlane in which Smackdown Women's champion Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair failed to capture the titles. We then go to a backstage interview with Bianca who talks about the loss and Sasha blaming her for the loss and slapping her after the match.
Bianca Belair vs Natalya (w/ Tamina)
Bianca immediately dropkicks Natalya and knocks her out of the ring with a shoulder tackle before she regroups with Tamina at ringside and Bianca stomps her in the corner. Bianca then gets two off of a jack knife before hitting a scoop slam and going up top before Sasha comes out to the ring and Tamina boots Bianca off of the apron as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Natalya in control of Bianca in the ring as Sasha has joined on commentary before Bianca comes back with a suplex into a dropkick. Bianca hits a spine buster for two before hitting a hand spring moonsault for two before Natalya drops her with a discus lariat for a deep two count. They exchange pin attempts before Bianca rolls out of the ring and Sasha yells at her from ringside before Bianca drops Sasha with a slap. Back in the ring Bianca then hits Natalya with the Kiss of Death for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bianca Belair defeats Natalya via pinfall.
- After the match Sasha attacks Bianca and hits a back stabber before Bianca rolls out of the ring and Sasha stands fall.
- In the locker room Edge comes in and addresses Roman and tells him that Roman needs to make sure Daniel isn't added to their title match as we go to commercial.
Rey Mysterio (w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs Dolph Ziggler (w/ Robert Roode)
Rey hits a head scissors into an enzuigiri before Dolph drops Rey with a back elbow and Rey hits a head scissors over the top rope before Dolph powerbombs Rey over the barricade. Dolph then drops Dom with a superkick when he goes to check on his father as we go to commercial.
Dolph sets Rey on the top turnbuckle before Rey counters a superplex and hits a diving seated senton into a roundhouse kick for two before Dolph hits a Famouser for a near fall. Rey then hits a drop toe hold before Dom takes out Robert and Dolph hits Rey with a Zig-Zag for a near fall before Rey hits the 619 into a springboard splash for the pin and the win.
Winner: Rey Mysterio defeats Dolph Ziggler via pinfall.
- After the match Adam Pearce comes out to the ring before he's trailed by Roman, Paul, and Jey as we go to commercial.
- We get a graphic for Sami's new talk show debuting next week with infamous YouTube star Logan Paul.
- Edge comes out to the ring to join everyone before Daniel is last to come out before Adam announces that the Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania will now be a triple threat. Daniel then attacks Edge before Roman attacks Daniel and Edge spears Roman before hitting both Roman and Daniel with a chair. Edge then attacks agents before Roman and Daniel escape before Edge can hit a pair of conchairtos as we go off the air.
