Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with Universal champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman as they make their way out to the ring and Roman gets on the mic and addresses The Usos who are challenging for the Smackdown Tag Team titles without his blessing. Roman then calls the brothers out to the ring before they tell Roman that they're confident that they will win the titles before Roman leaves as we go to commercial.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match
The Mysterios (c) vs The Usos
Rey and Jimmy start the match off before the Usos double team Rey for two before Jey misses a jumping splash and Rey hits a head scissors before Jimmy gets the blind tag and the Usos double team Rey again for two as Roman looks on from backstage. Rey comes back with a jawbreaker and gets dropped with a spin kick for two before Rey gets the hot tag to Dom who takes out both Usos and hits Jimmy with a tornado DDT for two before the Usos hit an assisted Samoan drop for two. Rey and Jey then take out each other before Jimmy superkicks Dom and Dom gets his knees up when Jimmy goes for a dive before Dom pins Jimmy with a clutch as the referee doesn't see Jimmy's shoulder up off of the mat.
Winner: The Mysterios retain their Smackdown Tag Team titles by defeating The Usos via pinfall.
- The Usos go to the locker room and answer to Roman before Roman mocks them and leaves as Jimmy is visibly upset.
- We go to a backstage sit-down interview with Seth Rollins before we go to Chad Gable trying to recruit Street Profits to the Alpha Academy and being turned own before SP walk off.
- The Usos meet with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville about the controversial results of their match before Sonya says that they'll take it into advisement and review the footage and that they will give them an answer by the end of the night.
Carmella vs Liv Morgan
Carmella makes Liv chase her before Liv catches her and sends her into the barricade repeatedly before they get back into the ring and Carmella drops Liv with a boot before Liv hits a variation of a back stabber and sends Carmella face first into the turnbuckle for two. Carmella then hits a hanging neckbreaker in the ropes before locking in the Code of Silence for the tap and the win.
Winner: Carmella defeats Liv Morgan via pinfall.
- Backstage the Mysterios are about to leave the arena when they're stopped by Sonya and Adam who inform them that they'll be defending their titles in tonight's main event in a rematch.
- Smackdown Women's champion Bianca Belair comes out to the ring and challenges Bayley to join her before Bayley shows up on the big screen and mocks Bianca before laughing and her face takes over all of the screens in the ThunderDome.
- Backstage Angelo and Montez are talking before Otis walks by and the two make fun of Otis before Otis lays them out and leaves as we go to commercial.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin
Baron drops Shin and beats on him in mount before Shin locks in an arm bar and Baron gets to the ropes for the break before hitting a standing flat liner and Corbin rolls out of the ring before he gets back inside and Shin clotheslines him before Corbin pins Shin while holding the tights.
Winner: Baron Corbin defeats Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall.
- After the match Corbin goes to grab his crown before he goes to leave with it and Rick stops him before Shin drops Baron with a roundhouse kick before putting the crown on and dancing while leaving up the ramp.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Apollo Crew (c) vs Kevin Owens
Apollo immediately goes after the ribs of Kevin and plays to the non-existent crowd before whipping him into the corner and Kevin comes back and sends Apollo out of the ring before Apollo rips him off of the apron and slams him onto the floor as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Apollo in control back in the ring before Kevin hits a Swanton Bomb onto the knees of the champion before Apollo rocks him with an enzuigiri and hits a German for two before running into the post and Kevin hits a pop-up powerbomb for two. Apollo then pulls KO off of the top and hit a DVD onto the apron for the pin and the win.
Apollo Crews retains his Intercontinental title by defeating Kevin Owens via pinfall.
- After the match Sami Zayn comes out and attacks Kevin before leaving as we go to commercial.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match
The Mysterios (c) vs The Usos
Jimmy and Dom start the match off before Jimmy drops Dom and covers him for a series of two counts before Jey comes in and hits a scoop slam before Dom fights out of the corner and Jey hits a neck breaker before Dom rolls out of the ring and Jey hits a suicide dive as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Jey in control of Dom until Dom comes back with a head scissors and gets the hot tag to his father who knocks Jey off of the apron and hits Jimmy with a springboard forearm for two before Jimmy hits a back elbow and Jey gets a blind tag before Rey hits Jey with a head scissors and clears the ring of both Usos. Rey hits a sliding splash before Jey runs into the post at ringside and hit Jimmy with a hurricanrana before hitting a 619 and tagging in Dom who gets dropped by Roman out of nowhere with a superman punch for the disqualification.
Winner: The Mysterios retain their Smackdown tag team titles by defeating The Usos via disqualification.
- After the match Roman spears Rey and sends Dom into the steps before throwing Rey and Dom into the barricade and hitting Dom and Rey with the steps before throwing Rey over the barricade and beating Dom down against the barricade before tossing him back into the ring. Roman then beats on Dom in mount as Jey and Jimmy look on before choking Dom unconscious as Jimmy leaves Roman and Jey in the ring as we go off the air with Roman beating on Dom as Jey and Jimmy look on before powerbombing him as we go off the air.
