WWE SummerSlam 2019 To Be Held In Toronto

SummerSlam 2019 finally has a home. 

WWE officially announced that The Biggest Party of the Summer will head north to Toronto next year. Scotiabank Arena will play host to annual event. WWE first confirmed the news to ET Canada.

SummerSlam '19 will take place on Sunday, Aug. 11. NXT TakeOver will be held the night before with Raw on Monday and SmackDown on Tuesday. All four events will be held at the Scotiabank Arena. 

Along with four consecutive nights of action, WWE will have an interactive SummerSlam Axxess fan festival at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. 

“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer back to Toronto,” said John Saboor, WWE executive vice-president, special events, in a statement. “We look forward to working with our partners at Tourism Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to build a blueprint that welcomes our global fan base to the great city of Toronto.”

Toronto previously hosted SummerSlam back in 2004. The four-day event had been held in Brooklyn, New York each of the last four years.
