WWE Unreal Director Chris Weaver Explains Why John Cena Didn’t Talk About Heel Turn On Unreal
WWE Unreal on Netflix takes fans behind the scenes of WWE from the Netflix premiere to WrestleMania 41. While many topics are discussed, John Cena doesn’t answer questions regarding his heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Speaking to Tony Maglio of the Hollywood Reporter, Unreal director Chris Weaver explained why Cena didn’t answer questions about the turn.
“Yeah, the heel turn — it occurred — and he didn’t want to do any detailing, because the story isn’t over yet when the show comes out, right? That was sort of the way I took it, and he might have messaged it to us even off camera, was the story’s not over. So he didn’t want to dive too far into it?”
Weaver said Cena was more protective of the business than others interviewed for the series, including CM Punk.
John Cena won the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41, defeating Cody Rhodes in the main event.
