A medical update on Cesaro has been provided by WWE.
On the September 3 episode of WWE SmackDown, Cesaro was brutally assaulted by Seth Rollins following their match. Rollins applied the Glasgow Grin, hit a stomp, and systematically targeted the Swiss Superman's neck. All of this was done to provoke Edge, who soon after came out to rescue Cesaro when it appeared as though Rollins was about to hit another stomp onto a chair.
This morning on Talking Smack, an update on Cesaro's condition was provided. Per Matt Camp; "We do have an update on Cesaro. I can tell you here that following his match with Seth Rollins, Cesaro was evaluated by the WWE medical staff and sustained a cervical strain."
It was not stated how long (or if) Cesaro will be out of action.
Rollins and Edge will face off on the September 10 episode of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden.
