WWE had four different brands on the road this past week.
For a second straight week, Raw events were headlined by handicap matches pitting The Shield's Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins against The Miz and his lackeys, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Jason Jordan was held off the road yet again due to injury, although he did appear at the big 25th Anniversary episode of Raw. The Raw events also marked the first title defenses for Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss in more than a month. As Fightful Managing Editor Sean Ross Sapp noted in a tweet, Bliss is on track to go more than three months without defending her title on TV.
There was also an angle at the Raw event in Binghamton that solidified the apparent bond between Mixed Match Challenge partners Bliss and Braun Strowman, after Curt Hawkins disrupted Bliss' post-match celebration:
Meanwhile, over on Smackdown, AJ Styles successfully defended his WWE Title against Sami Zayn in a pair of Steel Cage Match main events.
The Smackdown live events were topped by a Steel Cage main event with AJ Styles defending his WWE Title against Sami Zayn while major Smackdown acts like Kevin Owens and Randy Orton had the weekend off.
NXT stayed close to home in Florida, with the action including a 20-minute time limit draw between Johnny Gargano and Kassius Ohno and TM-61 in a tag team match. The Undisputed Era also defended the NXT Tag Titles on the two-show loop, while Ember Moon defended her NXT Women's Title.
And, for the first time ever, 205 Live hit the road. Those events also marked what the final appearances for Enzo Amore before he was suspended after being accused of rape.
