German promotion wXw has effectively canceled 16 Carat Gold 2021.

wXW announced in a statement on its website that they have stopped planning alternate dates for 16 Carat Gold 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 16 Carat Gold is an annual tournament featuring names from all over the world and with many talent not being able to travel during the pandemic and the lack of fans being able to attend, the decision was made to stop planning the event.

The tournament was scheduled for March 5-7, 2021. As of now, 16 Carat Gold 2022 is scheduled for March 4-6, 2022.

From wXw:

The 16 Carat Gold is an event with 1,500 wrestling fans from at least all of Europe on peak days, a squad of wrestlers from all over the world and very pronounced interactions between fans and wrestlers.

At the moment we are talking about the fact that we can only invite one more person into our apartments and that we can no longer send our children to school. Similar to large indoor concerts and folk festivals, a 16 carat gold as we know it will be the very last thing that will be possible again at some point. We have accordingly stopped planning an alternative date for 16 Carat Gold 2021.
The 16 Carat Gold 2022 will take place from March 4th to 6th, 2022 in Turbinenhalle 1 in Oberhausen. Tickets from Carat 2021 remain valid for this.

wXw also stated they are now postponing all other events announced by March 31, 2021.
