Xavier Woods Recalls Being Left Out Of 2014 Royal Rumble Because They Ran Out Of Space

Xavier Woods was looking for his big break in the 2014 Royal Rumble. He was fresh on the main roster and wanted to make an impact by competing in the 30-man event. He went on television, announced himself for the match, promoted himself for weeks and then....

Wasn't in the match.

Six-Man Tag, Mixed Tag, X-Division Title Bout, More Announced For TNA Under Siege

"I got told I was in it. And then I wasn't in it," recalled Woods on New Day: Feel The Power"It was my first January of being on WWE television and I wasn't really doing anything. I got told, 'Hey, you're gonna go out on commentary and announce that you're the first person putting themselves in the Rumble.' I thought this was awesome. So, I go out and say it, and for the next two-three weeks, I'm talking about how I'm going to be in the Rumble. Then, before the Rumble begins, they have everybody sit down and have all the numbers. We have the Royal Rumble meeting, everybody got what number they were. At the end of it, I raise my hand and go, 'I didn't get a number.' For the past three weeks, I've been on WWE television, YA'LLS SHOW! You have told me to go out and explain that I am in the Rumble. Looked over the papers again. 'Must have ran out of space. Maybe next year.'"

Woods continued, revealing he wasn't in the match the following year either.

"I don't think I was in it the next year either. The next year, I was supposed to be in it, but I never got travel. My phone was blowing up, people asking where I am, I'm not in the meeting. Yeah, ya'll didn't tell me I was on the show."

Woods finally got into the Rumble in 2017, entering at number 20 and lasting under five minutes.
