Xavier Woods Says UpUpDownDown Will Always Remain A Priority Amid His Bid For A Hosting Gig At G4

Xavier Woods enjoys the escapism that playing video games on his YouTube channel provides during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Xavier Woods, who is currently away from WWE due to injury, has made a second career for himself as a content creator through his YouTube channel UpUpDownDown, which is all about the wonderful world of gaming.

Woods has spoken in the past about wanting to create a nice safety net for himself when hey time is the professional wrestler is over, but his YouTube channel has also provided him something else in these uncertain times, escapism.

"It just feels like we're in the locker room, again, having a good time, and I think that people have gravitated towards it because that's what they want to feel, and it's harder for some people to feel that because of quarantine," Woods said to Comic Book about his YouTube Uno games. "So I think for some people, they're fans and they like wrestling and they happen to like us by proxy, but I think for other people, they watch it because it's a nice escape for like 40 minutes or an hour, where you don't have to think about all the garbage fire that is 2020. You can just watch grown men scream at each other."

Xavier has also spoken openly about wanting to host a show on revitalized G4 Network. However, Woods wants to reassure fans that his YouTube channel will always remain no matter what he does with his career.

"No. I don't think it becomes an issue at all, because UpUpDownDown will always run as UpUpDownDown does," Woods said. "I've always been in a situation where I'm doing more than one thing at once. People say they're burning the candle from both ends. I'm burning the candle from both ends and the middle usually. I feel like if I'm lucky enough to get their attention and to become a host of something, or even just like a correspondent, like when Cons come back, or even just somebody that pokes their head in and then they get interviewed or just be on for like two seconds, I just want to do anything with G4. But I feel like UpUpDownDown, as I said, will run as it has been running."
