Batista lands a dream gig.
Xbox has announced that Batista will be a playable character in Gears 5, the latest installment in the Gears of War franchise. He will wear the armor of Marcus Fenix. Batista has previously campaigned for a role in the Gears of War movie.
Coalition Studio Head Rod Fergusso told Bleacher Report, "It's been a long time coming, but I couldn't be happier that we're finally making Dave's dream to be in Gears of War a reality in 'Gears 5.' The iconic, larger-than-life persona of Batista fits perfectly in the Gears of War Universe, and the entire team at The Coalition can't wait to see him take on the Swarm and all other challengers in multiplayer. Dave and the WWE have been a pleasure to work with, and I'm hopeful this is just the beginning of our partnership."
Xbox has also partnered with WWE to create a special countdown to Batista?s availability in the game. The partnership includes a behind-the-scenes with Gears 5 and Batista on UpUpDownDown. The countdown leads up to WWE Clash of Champions on Sunday, Sept. 15.
