Xena comments on her relationship with Mina Shirakawa and how she helped her adapt to live in Japan.

A few years ago, Xena would move to Japan from Australia and has become a staple of the STARDOM roster. Upon arriving in Japan, she would receive advice and help from one STARDOM name that helped her adapt to a new country and wrestling style.

While speaking to Thom Fain in a new interview, Xena was asked about Mina Shirakawa, noting that she’s still her go-to person.

“When I first got here, Mina was my to-go-to person, yes, and she still is my to-go person. She came and visited me when I was injured. She surprised me, yeah.”

Xena continued, sharing how she was given advice by Mina about Joshi wrestling.

“She gave me more advice on the Joshi-style wrestling because when I came, I wasn’t very, like, top-notch Joshi-style wrestler. I think I am now. Like, I’ve adapted my style to be, like, an all-rounder with a high speed, like, my chops, everything. So I think she helped me adapt.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, discussed her first introduction to Joshi wrestling. You can read more about that here.
