As the worlds of sports and entertainment, in addition to public gatherings overall, continue to be impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak, the XFL, the relaunched football league of Vince McMahon's side project from WWE, Alpha Entertainment, has officially announced that it is canceling the rest of its regular-season games.
The XFL began in February of 2020 and was slated to go until April of this year. The statement does say that all players will be paid their base-pay and the XFL looks forward to resuming regular play in 2021 and ?years to come.?

Currently, the XFL will not be playing its regular-season games. However, all players will be paid their base pay and benefits for the 2020 regular season. All XFL ticket holders will be issued refunds or credit toward future games. The XFL is committed to playing a full season in 2021 and future years.
The original XFL which launched in 2001, only saw the completion of a single season before ceasing operations.
