Yoshihiro Takayama Says He’s Been Feeling A Tingling Sensation In His Legs

A positive update on Yoshihiro Takayama.

Coming up on September 7th is the fifth installment of TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE, which is a yearly show to honor former wrestler Yoshihiro Takayama, who has been paralyzed from the neck down since 2017.

There was a press conference held on July 2nd, and it was announced that the main event of the show will see Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado take on Naomichi Marufuji and HARASHIMA (DDT).

After the press conference, Takayama’s manager spoke to reporters and revealed that Takayama has been saying that he’s been feeling a tingling sensation in his legs again.

“Lately, he occasionally says things like, ‘I feel a tingling sensation, like I have legs again.’”

Takayama will once again be present at the event. He has appeared before the in-ring action begins and at the conclusion of the show to take a photo-op with the wrestlers in the ring.

Takayama’s career came to an end when he was wrestling at a DDT show and attempted to do a sunset flip, but landed on his head. The match came to an abrupt end, and Takayama was rushed to a hospital.

The proceeds from TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE V will go directly to Takayama’s medical expenses.
