Yota Tsuji: AEW and WWE Don't Have The Gems That Are New Japan Young Lions

Yota Tsuji says NJPW is the greatest.

Yota Tsuji, Shota Umino, and Ren Narita, are the Reiwa Three Musketeers in NJPW, as they have risen up the ranks, and they are viewed as three young stars who are leading NJPW's new generation. Tsuji came up through NJPW's young lion system, and his career reached new heights when he won the New Japan Cup earlier in 2024.

Tsuji competed at the Best of the Super Juniors 31 event on May 21, where he and Hiromu Takahashi beat young lions Katsuya Murashima and Shoma Kato.

In his post-match comments, Yota Tsuji sent a message to NJPW's young lions.

"Kato, Murashima, I know exactly how you guys are feeling right now. You’ve debuted, but you’re stuck spinning your wheels. That’s eating at you day in and day out. But I have one piece of advice for you. As long as you keep your nose to the grindstone, you’ll be alright in the end. You’re in the greatest promotion there is. AEW and WWE don’t have the gems that are New Japan Young Lions," Tsuji said through a translator.

NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi has said that he feels envious of the speed at which WWE produces stars. Check out his comments here.
