Yota Tsuji Bests Gabe Kidd To Capture IWGP Global Heavyweight Title At NJPW King Of Pro-Wrestling

A new Global Heavyweight Champion.

The semi-main event of NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling saw Gabe Kidd defend the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Yota Tsuji.

Kidd has held the belt since Dominion, where he defeated Tsuji to become champion. Their first bout in 2025 resulted in a double knockout.

Their match at King of Pro-Wrestling concluded with Tsuji hitting Kidd with two ‘Gene Blaster’ spears. He followed that up by making Kidd submit to a Boston Crab. After the match, Tsuji and Kidd both bowed down on the mat and put their heads against the NJPW logo.

The War Dogs (David Finlay, Clark Connors, Yuto-Ice, OSKAR, Drilla Moloney, Taiji Ishimori & Gedo) came to the ring. Finlay faced off with Kidd, but also coming down to the ring were members of the group known as Unaffiliated (Shingo Takagi, Titán, Hiromu Takahashi & Daiki Nagai). They came to back Tsuji and appeared to be there for Kidd as well. The two factions then proceeded to shake hands and embrace each other.

After both sides went to the backstage area, Tsuji went over to Hiroshi Tanahashi, who was on commentary, and held up the IWGP Global Heavyweight Title. Tsuji and Tanahashi then shook hands.
