Yota Tsuji Captures IWGP World Heavyweight Title, Jake Lee Ambushes Tsuji Post-Match At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20

Tsuji’s celebration was ruined.

The semi-main event of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 at the Tokyo Dome was an IWGP World Heavyweight and Global Heavyweight double title match. Going into the bout, Konosuke Takeshita put the World Title up for grabs against Tsuji’s Global Heavyweight Title.

In what was a back-and-forth bout, the conclusion saw Tsuji tap Takeshita out with a Boston Crab submission.

Post-match, Tsuji celebrated with both of his championships and began speaking to the audience. He was then ambushed from behind by Jake Lee.

Lee returned to NJPW in a 10-man tag team match earlier in the night at Wrestle Kingdom. He is now with United Empire. Lee had been out of action since September 2024 due to a fractured kneecap.
