Yota Tsuji Challenging Callum Newman For IWGP Heavyweight Championship At NJPW Dominion

Newman and Tsuji to run it back.
NJPW presented the New Japan Road — Ignition to Dominion event on May 6th, and the headlining bout was a tag team match with IWGP Heavyweight Title implications.
United Empire’s Jake Lee and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Callum Newman faced Unbound Company (Shingo Takagi & Yota Tsuji). After Newman defeated Takagi at Wrestling Dontaku night two, he proposed the aforementioned tag match challenge with stipulations attached.
If United Empire won, neither Takagi nor Tsuji could ever challenge Newman for the title again. If Unbound Company won, Tsuji or Takagi would have to pin Newman to get a title match at NJPW Dominion on June 14th.
During the bout, Newman tried to low blow Takagi while the referee’s back was turned, which is how he defeated Takagi at Wrestling Dontaku. Newman’s latest attempt backfired as Takagi ended up low-blowing him.
Takagi would end up showing support for his factionmate Tsuji and focused on Jake Lee. Tsuji went on to deliver the ‘Gene Blast’ spear to Newman and pinned the champion. Tsuji and Newman are set to headline Dominion.
It was at Sakura Genesis in April where Newman defeated Tsuji to become the youngest IWGP Heavyweight Champion in New Japan’s history.
