Yota Tsuji Comments On Konosuke Takeshita Wearing Armband In Reference To Shinsuke Nakamura, Says He Thought About Taking It Off Takeshita

Tsuji weighs in on Takeshita’s tribute.
Before Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final match, which took place at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20, there was an IWGP World Heavyweight Title bout that saw Konosuke Takeshita defend against Yota Tsuji.
As a part of his attire for the match, Takeshita sported an armband that resembled what Shinsuke Nakamura sports to the ring. Tsuji told NJPW1972.com that when he first saw that, he wanted to take it off Takeshita, but then thought about how disrespectful it would be to both Nakamura and Tanahashi.
“When I saw it, I had this impulse to take it off him, but that would have been disrespectful to (Shinsuke) Nakamura and (Hiroshi) Tanahashi both. It just goes to show how much that night meant to so many people.”
After Wrestle Kingdom, Nakamura shared that he tried to do everything he could to be in attendance for Tanahashi’s final match and retirement ceremony.
