Yota Tsuji Discusses Idea Of Doing NJPW vs. AEW Matches At Tokyo Dome

Yota Tsuji threw the idea out there.
It had already been revealed that MJF will be coming to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and he’s coming after Ryohei Oiwa.
Following the King of Pro-Wrestling event, it is official that Kenny Omega and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley are back in the mix of NJPW as well. AEW World Champion Will Ospreay is also wrapped up in a United Empire storyline in NJPW.
After Omega ambushed Oleg Boltin and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji to close King of Pro-Wrestling, Tsuji brought up that the top AEW talents are all over NJPW. While speaking to the press (via Tokyo Sports), Tsuji brought up the idea of doing NJPW versus AEW at the Tokyo Dome.
“These days, AEW’s top fighters are coming one after another. So, to establish a truly equal relationship, I think it would be interesting to hold a full-scale inter-promotional match at the Tokyo Dome,” Tsuji said. “If I beat Kenny in Hiroshima, I want AEW to select a ‘true top of the top’ once again and send them to face me.” He added, “I feel like everyone in New Japan—regardless of their unit—is starting to realize that we can’t keep getting overshadowed by AEW. If we end up drawing a crowd to the Dome for a series of matches, it’ll be the biggest boomerang coming back at me—since I’ve been constantly questioning whether our partnership with AEW is really worth it. If we can show the world what we’re capable of, then that’s fine for now.”
Scheduled for NJPW Power Struggle on November 3rd is a non-title three-way match involving Tsuji, Omega, and Oleg Boltin. If Omega wins, he gets a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Title.
