Yota Tsuji Displeased With NJPW US Shows, Says He'll Stop Participating If There Isn't More Respect

New Japan Pro-Wrestling was in California for NJPW Resurgence, an event headlined by AZM winning the IWGP Women's Championship from Mercedes Mone in a triple threat match that also included Mina Shirakawa.

The IWGP World Heavyweight Title bout between Hirooki Goto and Zack Sabre Jr served as the co-main event.

Matt Mako: Lee Moriarty Might Be A Better Pure Wrestler, But I'm A Better Fighter

This was the second straight NJPW in US show where the IWGP World Heavyweight Title was not the main event.

Yota Tsuji expressed his displeasure with the situation in an interview with Tokyo Sports.

"If this situation continues, I won't be going to New Japan's US tournaments anymore. The setup isn't good, and they can't change the ring that got covered in blood halfway through... I think respect for the IWGP is also respect for New Japan. A place that can't do that isn't New Japan Pro-Wrestling. In other words, I have no right to participate," he said.

Tsuji has not wrestled at any NJPW events in the USA in 2025.

He is set to defend the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Dominion.
