At NJPW Tanahashi Jam, Zack Sabre Jr would become a two time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, defeating Hirooki Goto. During the bout, Zack would wrestle a more in your face technical style, something that he has proven to be quite good at in recent years.

While speaking to NJPW in a new interview following reclaiming the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Zack was asked about wrestling more antagonistically in the bout.

“I’ve spent a lot of my recent career as an antagonist learning from one of the best pricks in the game (laughs).”

Zack would continue, noting that he still wants to be a good face for the company with NJPW.

“Right. And I still want to be approachable and amicable outside the ring, but I wrestle best in the ring by being very antagonistic. I think that will be easier to do in this second reign. I can be a professional representation of a top champion, but I can also allow myself to be as aggressive in the ring as I want to be.”

Last month, Zack would be used as an expert subject on Australia’s Mastermind quiz TV show. You can read more about that here.
