Zelina Vega Thinks Current Version Of Her On-Screen Character Is ‘The Purest Form & The Most Fun’
Zelina Vega discusses the current version of her character.
Present day on WWE programming, Zelina Vega is united with her real-life husband, Aleister Black. They are featured on Friday Night SmackDown.
Vega’s current iteration of her character was delved into while she and Black guest appeared on The Babyfaces Podcast. Vega stressed that she’s not back to being just a manager, and she will remain active in the ring. She added that this version of her character is the purest and most fun.
“I also wanna make sure that people understand that, you know… people thought that when I got with my husband, that all of a sudden, ‘She’s a manager again, and, ‘Oh, we’re losing her as a wrestler.’ You’re not, you’re not. I really wanna stress that because the fun thing is Zelina has worn so many hats. There’s been Zelina the manager, there’s been Queen Zelina, there’s been L.W.O. Zelina. But now, I feel like this version of myself is the purest form and the most fun… You can even see it with people, ‘Oh my God, she’s working with snakes’ but I’ve loved snakes forever. So, it’s nice to just embrace this form of me and just really get to put that out there for people and I think they just accepted it with open arms. As soon as the entrance (with Aleister Black) happened, I feel like they accepted that with open arms.”
Vega and Black are scheduled for tag team action on the 12/12 SmackDown. They will be facing The Terror Twins (Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest).
